Will solar power ever be viable?

The brief response is… yes! Right now, it is viable! The notion that, for some reason, solar power is not feasible is a common fallacy. If you’ve never really looked in-depth into solar power for your home, then you might think solar is no realistic option for your home. It is more practical than ever and probably will ever be.

Over the last decade, the cost of solar equipment has dropped significantly.

That is probably the most crucial factor in evaluating solar viability for your house. Only wealthy people could afford to go on solar when it costs ten times more than it does today. Now that it has gone down, the average person can afford solar practically.

The fact that utility rates have risen each year is another significant factor in becoming viable in solar. It has expanded nationally, on average, 5 percent per annum. With higher utility rates, solar becomes ever more feasible.

Financing is the third thing that made solar a viable option for the average homeowner. There have been no realistic options in the past as to charging for a solar system. Now that solar is more common, lenders have created financing programs to make solar more affordable.

Instead of having to come up with a large chunk of money all at once, you can make a small, monthly payment instead. Most of the time, the monthly payment is less than the cost of your monthly electric bill.

In general, solar is viable for most people in our area. If you own your home and pay an electric bill, solar could be possible for you in real terms.
